绿树荫浓,夏日渐长,校园里清新洁白的钓钟柳,开了又谢。踩着花季的尾巴,终于,在66日晚,外语学院第十一届语音语调大赛于一教106报告厅顺利举办。作为外语学院品牌活动、口语研究中心语音助教团队主办项目,语音语调大赛已经走过了第一个十年,迎来了再续辉煌的一役。

独上高楼

从语音助教团队创建伊始,每一届的助教们都秉承着“用心吐字,用爱归音”的理念,充盈自己的英语语音知识,锻炼口语能力,并通过朋辈辅导,为学弟学妹们教授语音知识、纠正发音,从44个国际音标到词重音、句重音、不完全爆破、弱读等朗读技巧,从配音到演讲,无微不至,精彩纷呈。团队指导老师刘森常与人说起,她总会收到来自许多同学的感谢,感谢语音助教团队给了他们专业的知识和开口讲英语的自信。

到目前为止,语音助教团队已经形成了一套系统的语音授课模式和评价分析体系,包括前、中、后测及分析、常规授课活动、集体备课等环节,建立起了自己的语音资料库。

磨砺锋芒

十年来,语音助教团队通过“做中学”的课外语音辅导实践,与同伴合作学习,共同进步,近年来成功申报了“光华基金”、“大夏基金”、 “上海市创新实践”、“国家创新实践”等多个项目,在英语演讲方面,中心亦培养出数名“21世纪杯”全国大学生获奖选手、“华澳杯”华东地区、上海地区演讲比赛等赛事的获奖选手。而语音语调大赛,作为我校学生外语学习的文化品牌活动,并已成为上海市优秀教学成果及我校优秀教学成果的一部分,十年磨砺已巅峰,不想重新出鞘之日,竟是更加凌厉的锋芒,第十一届,我们再次见证飞跃的奇迹。

破茧成蝶

大赛伊始,外语学院院长袁筱一教授上台致辞,表达出对英语系学生的赞赏以及对大赛的支持,并称这是学生们宝贵的学习和展示的平台。在新一届团队负责人谢姝怡的带领下,助教团队集思广益,在第十一届语音语调大赛的环节上进行了革新,在单词绕口令车轮战、新闻朗读、配音、合唱的基础上,加入了书信朗诵、短剧表演两项新的内容,并邀请英语系国际班学生,以及孟宪承书院学生带来了精彩的表演,为大赛注入了新鲜活力。

在争分夺秒的车轮战和当场随机抽取学生朗读新闻的环节中,2017级英语系学生们全力以赴、不相上下,每每在最高分宣读的时刻,会场中都会爆发出源自心底的自豪的欢呼。

在书信朗读环节,舒缓美好的音乐弥散开来,带着同学们口中温柔的语句,传达出对父母无尽的衷情与感恩,深刻地阐释了,何谓“用爱归音”。

在接下来的配音环节中,英语系的同学们展现出极高的专业素养,纯正的发音、自然的语流、大方的表演姿态,直叫评委老师和观众们连连称赞,孟宪承书院非英语系同学代表队的表现也可谓惊艳,与专业学生不分伯仲。

而最精彩的,当属最后压轴的集体项目:短剧表演、合唱。短剧Red Shoes被分成五个场景,分别由五个班级的同学排演呈现,红胡子卫兵、步履蹒跚的老奶奶、被红舞鞋操纵着、一直跳舞的女孩、砍柴的夫妇、山中的女巫……众角色齐登场,表演引人入胜,其中才思与创意可见一斑。

合唱环节更是洋溢着青春张扬气息,载歌载舞,好不尽兴!在国际班的同学们带来的,选自冰雪奇缘的曲目Love is an Open Door中,竟是让一位日本小哥哥换上了公主装,让一位马来西亚小哥哥扮成王子,上演了一出求婚大戏,赢得满堂喝彩!成功的节目还要归功于齐心协力的前期准备:服装、道具、背景、音乐、剧本、彩排……繁复而充实,辛劳但有趣,相信这些定能成为同学们大学回忆中浓墨重彩的一笔。

尾声将至,外语学院英语系书记全建强教授发言,透露了自己错过往届大赛的遗憾之情,并献歌一曲,以示支持和鼓励。刘森老师有感而发,以ECNU藏头,用四个词做结: (E) Excellent; (C) Creative; (N) No. 1 participants, tutors, judges, contest; (U) Unique,完美总结出了大赛的精神与内涵。外语学院窦卫霖,杨延宁,张浩敏,孙闵欣等老师盛赞大赛。大夏书院的万姗姗老师和张长军老师首次观摩,亦是沉浸其中,全程享受大赛,为大赛的专业,创新和教学互动而折服。而赛后,上海名师基地的15位观摩教师代表写来了热情洋溢的贺信:“以赛促教,喜结硕果”。  

至此,外语学院第十一届语音语调大赛圆满落下帷幕,这场六月之约,你我共赴,不负韶华。我们也将继往开来,不断改进和完善。

今后,还会有许多属于我们的初夏。

Introduction of P&I Competition  

The 11th Pronunciation and Intonation Competition, supported by the Oral English Teaching and Research Center, was held on the evening of June.6th in East China Normal University. This competition managed to show the English pronunciation improvements of English major freshmen, and was also an assessment and exhibition of the teaching progress made by The Better Pronunciation for Communication Tutoring Team in the past year.

The competition consists of 6 parts, including words and tongue twisters, news report, letters to paraents, movie dubbing, short play and group singing. Professor Wang Fufang from Beijing Foreign Languages School spoke highly of this impressive competition,” I got to know the secret why you can learn and teach so effectively. Because you can put so many things together, and make a skillful way. It’s really impressive.” A group of 15 teachers from Shanghai Model Teaching workshop attended the Pronunciation and Intonation Contest (P&I Contest). A special report was released on ECNU’s 11th P&I Contest-a big thumb up for ECNU’s English teaching.

To insure that the competition would proceed smoothly, the Tutoring Team made preparation early on. At its initial stage, the teaching assistants collected preliminary materials from former test bank; Next, they held meetings to discuss the selections of materials, decided the final version and submitted it to professors for further suggestions; After distributed all the materials to each class, the teaching assistants began to help the freshmen practice each item in class; Finally, right before the competition, the Tutoring Team organized rehearsals with all contestants.

Through 10- year practice and improvement, The Pronunciation and Intonation Competition of East China Normal University has developed into one of the cultural brands of English learning for students on campus, and has also demonstrated a part of excellent teaching achievements both in ECNU and Shanghai. It is a big success of team cooperation and team work.

Adhere to the object of “Practicing in reflection, reflecting in practice”, The Better Pronunciation for Communication Tutoring Program will try every effort to promote and advocate this cultural brand of English learning.
